Now, that's gonna be a great option for the Compass because as you probably realize, we don't have a whole lot of space in the back. So if you are going on a vacation with your family, or you're doing any other big trips, you're gonna be very limited on what you can haul, especially if this is filled up with people. So a solution for you is gonna be a rooftop basket because that's gonna be able to store a lot of your luggage, any of your gear, or anything else along those lines. The first thing I wanna show you is just how much space we're gonna have on the inside, just so you know what you can load this up with. So your length is gonna be a little bit under 37 and 1/2 inches. more

Now this is gonna be a great option for you if you're looking at trying to haul anything that's longer or you just run out of space in the back of your car. This is gonna be more ideal for anything that's long, like any type of wood or anything else along those lines. We're gonna have 165 pound weight capacity and we'll be able to put some pretty long items in here and we'll have this front flange that's gonna help it be more aerodynamic. Now, if the case ever arises that you need a little bit more space, you can actually remove this flange and put things past this point too. I do recommend if you do put any items in here, making sure to strap them down so they're nice and secured. more

Hi. Matt with the etrailer, and today we're gonna be talking about the CURT Roof-Mounted Cargo Basket on the 2023 Jeep Gladiator. It has a capacity to hold up to 150 pounds, but always make sure to check what your roof rack is capable of. Another thing to note, it is made of steel with a black powder coating, so that just means it's gonna be very durable and it's gonna be rust resistant. If you notice here, these are gonna be excellent tie-down points. Since it is made of steel, you'll be able to tie these down and it won't damage your basket. more

Hi everyone, Aiden here at the trailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Flint Hill Goods Roof Cargo Basket and seeing how it fits on the top of our 2021 Jeep Wrangler. This is going to be a really great way to carry some extra stuff with you in your Wrangler because with this two door version, you do have a limited cargo space in the back. And if you don't want to mess with anything in the hitch then the roof is the next best place to go to expand that cargo space. And a basket, in my opinion, is a good way to do it too because we're not adding too much height to the vehicle when it's empty. We're going to be opened up so we can store some taller things in there so long as it's properly strapped down. more

A little bit different today we've got the bars, the bedrock system from Yakima mounted onto our rails on our truck here so it's not going up on the roof, but that just makes it easier to access. Not to mention we got some cargo up here that we wanted to keep separate from the stuff in our bed, but you can see there's plenty of room for totes and a cooler down in the bed while it's up on this bedrock. Hey everybody, welcome to etrailer.com, I'm Bobby. And today we're taking a look at the CURT Roof Mounted Cargo Basket here in our 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Now guys, of course, a lot of cargo space here in the Grand Cherokee, however, you start finding yourself piling everybody on the inside, filling up those seats and taking over that little bit of a limited cargo space in the back. It can be nice to go ahead and grab ourselves a little bit more room for that cargo. So, of course, this can be a great little pickup if you find yourself doing a lot of road tripping and one of those big items up there. One little thing to it that's nice though, guys, if you have a lot of kids that are maybe getting into those sports, getting dirty, getting gross, and they have all this duffle equipment, can be nice to go ahead, keep those from actually getting on the inside of our vehicle and getting them dirty and just getting them up on top. more

Hi there Jeep owners. Today, your 2021 Jeep Gladiator, we're going to be taking a look at the MegaWarrior from Yakima. Now, in order to install the MegaWarrior onto your Jeep Gladiator, you're going to need to have an option to do so. You can either use a roof rack or a ladder rack, whichever is the best option for your Gladiator. You also want to keep in mind that this carrier here needs a minimum spread of 36 inches, with a maximum spread up to 60. So you do want to make sure that the component you're planning on mounting it to has the appropriate spread to do so. more

Yakima Roof Basket Review - 2016 Jeep Patriot- Video
Today in our 2016 Jeep Patriot, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Yakima Offgrid Roof Top Cargo Basket, part number Y07138-08.This basket mounts to the roof rack of your vehicle. It allows you to transport any cargo or sports and recreational gear on top of the roof of your vehicle, for any times where your vehicle might be full of other cargo, or family members, or if you have some sports gear that might be too muddy to put on the inside of your vehicle, it'll be nice to transport it up there until you get home and are able to wash it off.We'll go ahead and hop up here and I'll show you a little bit about the inside of it. As you can see, it's mounted down by four rubber-coated steel straps. These straps come up and under our crossbars, and they latch in right there. Once you do that, you just push it over just like that.Now, this is pretty loose right now, so we're gonna bring it back and tighten it down a bit using this blue little knob. We'll just spin it to the right just to tighten it down a bit more, so that way when we clamp it, it's a little bit tighter. more

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Canyon XT cargo basket, part number TH859XT.The Thule Canyon XT solves a lot of problems for your Jeep Wrangler. For one, it's going to free up space on the inside or it's going to make for more things that you can carry with you when you go on your trips. This can be anything from sporting goods equipment to camping gear to even extra luggage that you didn't know you needed.This has several bars and attachment points to hook up your bungee cords or you ratchet straps, whatever it takes to keep your gear and luggage in place, but these can also serve as mounting points for extra lighting systems, whatever you want to do to sup up your Jeep.The basket itself has this nice aerodynamic shape to it, which gives it a nice factory-style look, once you have it installed on your vehicle. Like with anything on your roof, it is going to make some noise while you drive. However, with the Canyon, they do add this bearing up at the front that comes installed with it. This one that we have one the car measures 49" long by 40" wide. The part number is TH859XT. There's an extension that can be added in that'll give you an addition 20", so it'll 69" by 40". Rhino Rack Roof Basket Review - 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Speaker 1: Today in our 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're going to be test fitting the Rino Rack roof mounted steel cargo basket, part number RMCB. The Rino Rack roof basket is great for carrying a wide variety of objects on your roof, such as your luggage, your camping gear, or even the sporting good equipment you may have, so you can keep it out from the inside, and keep your inside clean.The overall dimensions are going to be 47 and 3/16s inches long by 35 and 3/8 inches wide, by 5 and a half inches deep. The max crossbar spread center to center you can have for this is going to be 30 inches with the minimum being 21 inches. The max weight capacity for this basket is 165 pounds, but you always want to double check with your vehicle's manual and roof rack system to make sure the weight is going to be safe for your roof rack.The straps are sold separately, however you can find them on etrailer.com to tie down your gear.With everything installed, we're not going to have an issue of clearance between our basket and our hatch, as you can see here. A lot of that's due to the fact that we have fixed mounts as far as our roof rack system is concerned. With everything strapped down, I'd also like to point out that there are multiple tie down points that you can utilize to hold your gear in place while you travel.It's very easy to install, it simply clamps around your existing roof rack system. more

Although it does have that high weight capacity, you do want to check your vehicle's owner's manual to make sure it can withstand that much weight. The part number for this is C18115. We already have three of our four mounts secured down. We're going to show you how we do our back passenger's side one here. We've got our spacers and brackets in place. We have out first bracket, which is going to be a plastic one, that goes underneath the railing of our backset and over the top of our crossbars. more

Kuat Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Today on our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we'll be doing a test fit on the Kuat Vagabond X Rooftop Basket and Bike Carrier. That's Part Number VX201-VX202. It's a perfect solution for freeing up space inside your vehicle for more passengers and pets. It measures 73 inches long by 41 inches wide, and has 160 pound weight capacity, though you'll want to be sure and check with your vehicle's owner's manual to see if your roof can carry that much. A few things to know about this basket that makes it different from other baskets is the two load bars. That way you can feel free to mount your crossbar accessories to your basket just right on top as you see here. Also, the two quick-release steelers, 9mm that is, so to work with your bikes that will accommodate that. more

Today on our 2016 Jeep Renegade we're taking a look at the Reese Rooftop Cargo Basket. That part number is RP1391300. Now this is 44 by 35 inches. It has a 4 1/4 inch lip on the edge for your tie down points and has a weight capacity of 125 pounds. Today on our 2016 Jeep Compass, we'll begin doing a test fit of the Sports Rack Vista Mounting Cargo Basket. Part number is SR9035. This basket is 44 inches long, 39 and 1/8 inches wide, and can hold up to 110 pounds. I have 3 of the 4 hold downs on. I'll put the last one on now. With these hold downs, you have a spacer, that we already have here. We have a plate that sits on top, and we have 2 wing nuts. Put the plate on, put the u bolt on, and we'll get one of the wing nuts started. more

SportRack Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Today on our 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee we're going to be doing a test fit of the Sportrack Vista rooftop mounted cargo basket, part number SR9035. This cargo basket is going to be 44" long, 39 1/8" wide, have a depth of 6", and with its sturdy steel construction is going to offer 110 pound weight capacity. As you can see we've already got our two feet in the front assembled and in place as well as the back passenger side. I'm going to show you how to place in the driver side since they all go on the same way. First thing you want to do when you get your rack put on your vehicle is find out whatever your crossbar spacing is and place your spacers in between your crossbar and your basket like so. Next you will take your U shaped bracket with a nice protective rubber coating and place it underneath. more

Today on our 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Canyon rooftop mounted cargo basket. As you can see, we've already got it up here on our vehicle mounted on cross bars as well. It's going to be part number TH859. Now this cargo basket is going to have a sturdy steel construction with 150 pound weight capacity. It'll be 49 inches long, 40 inches wide and have a depth of 6 inches. With it being mounted up on top of our cross bars, you can see that we already have the 2 front ones in places as well as the rear passenger. SportRack Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2005 Jeep Liberty- Video
Today on our 2005 Jeep Liberty, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Sport Rack Vista Rooftop Mounted Cargo Basket, part number SR9035. This cargo basket is going to have a sturdy, steel construction that's going to offer a hundred and ten pound weight capacity as well as it's going to be forty four inches long, thirty nine and one eighth inches wide as well as have that depth of six inches for max stowing capabilities. As you can see, we already have three of the feet in place, the two in the front and the one on the passenger side rear. We're going to show you how to put the other one on since they all go the same. I'll just take a step up on the tire here and show you how it all goes in place. You're going to have your spacer that's going to go between the bar as you can see there and we'll just adjust this just a little bit. Take your U shape clip, your U shape bolt here, let me un-thread this out of the way. more

There's also the option to get the 22-inch extension to give you another amount of space that you may need which is going to be part number SR9030. As you can see, we've already got three of our feet up here and installed on the vehicle up on our load bars that we have here today. more

As you could see by looking up on top of the vehicle that we already have three of our foot pads installed as well as the spacer on the backside here that we're going to show you how to place on. If you look at the spacer, it's in a sandwich in between and the rack is actually going to sit on top of that on your cross. more

Thule Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Jeep Cherokee- Video
Today on our 2015 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Canyon, this is going to be your rooftop mounted cargo basket. This is going to be part number TH859. It will be 49 inches long by 40 inches wide, 6 inches deep with a 150 pound weight capacity in this nice steel construction. As you can see we've already got our feet spread out but we don't have any feet pad or any of the clamps on yet because it is a pretty easy process to do so and we'll go through it all on how to get them all put on. The only thing we have done thus far was to get our, to unscrew this Allen bolts here and space out by sliding this feet to the appropriate bar spread that we have on the vehicle. For this vehicle we had a 32 inch bar spread. From center to center on these brackets we just space them out 32 inches and here is your end product. more

Yakima LoadWarrior Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2013 Jeep Patriot- Video
Today in the studio, we have a 2013 Jeep Patriot. We're going to do a quick test fit of the Yakima Load Warrior. This is a roof-mounted cargo basket, part number Y07070. Now as you can see, we already had the basket up onto our crossbars, which the roof rack system we have today is from Rhino-Rack, and what I went ahead and did is installed the back two clamps because it does take a little bit to install, not too much, but just a lot of turning of the knobs, so I just left these two uninstalled to give you a quick idea of how it goes on. You can see this T-bolt here on the other side, what you do is there's just a slot in this bracket that this T-bolt just goes down to, and then it'll twist like so, lock in place, and then you'll just tighten down on the nut. Like that and then that T bolt will twist and lock into place, and then we'll just tighten this down. Now, depending on your crossbar spread and what roof rack system that you have will depend on if this rack will actually work for you. Now the Jeep Patriot does have the arrow indicators from the manufacturer on the side rails, basically indicating where the recommended placement of your crossbars should be, and it looks like the rack is going to fit nicely for where the OEM marker indicators are, so it should be good, and I'll loosen this up a little bit and then basically I'm just going to repeat the same process that I did for the front clamp, just insert that T-bolt into that slot and then tighten her down. All right, and once everything is all tightened down, that will complete today's test fit of the Yakima Load Warrior Roof-Mounted Cargo Basket, part number Y07070 on our 2013 Jeep Patriot. more

Today on our 2010 Jeep Patriot we're going to be test fitting the Yakima LoadWarrior. This is a roof-mounted cargo basket. Its part number is Y07070. Now we've already got our Yakima RailGrab roof rack system installed on the Patriot and I've already separated three of the four clamps. What I mean by separated is that on one side we have a carriage bolt. On the other side we have a t-bolt. more

Thule Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2014 Jeep Cherokee- Video
Today on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee we're going to be test fitting the Thule Moab. This is the mother of all baskets, part number TH690XT. Now we've got the Thule Rapid Crossroads roof rack system already installed onto the Cherokee and we've begun our test fit with one carriage bolt and wing nut removed from each of our clamps. As you can see, the one isn't here; it's not in here. Just a tip: I would recommend removing the same side from each of the four clamps. That's going to make installation a lot easier for you. We're going to grab our basket and we're going to place this right up onto our load bars. more

Thule MOAB Roof Top Cargo Basket Review - 2008 Jeep Liberty- Video
Today on our 2008 Jeep Liberty well be test fitting the Thule Moab rooftop cargo basket, part number th690xt. With a Thule Aeroblade roof rack system already assembled onto our vehicle, well begin our test fit by placing the cargo basket on to the vehicles load bars. After positioning the basket over top of the load bars, well need to make sure that the clamps fit the distance of the crossbar spread. If need be, we can remove the brackets to fit over top of each load bar to fit the crossbar spread distance. Once weve established this and all four black thick brackets are over top of the load bars, we can loosen up the gray wing nuts to bring the brackets around the underside of both the front and rear load bar. Well then insert the silver bolt through the top bracket and thread on our wing nuts. more

Thule MOAB Roof Top Cargo Basket Review - 2014 Jeep Patriot- Video
Today on our 2014 Jeep Patriot, well be test fitting the Thule Mother Of All Baskets rooftop cargo carrier, part number th690xt. To begin our test, we can go ahead and set our clamps on our carrier, the distance that our load bars are already set at. In this case its about 27-1/2. With our clamps set we can go ahead and load our cargo carrier on top of our vehicle. Once we get it positioned the way that we want it, we can then go around and tighten down each clamp. Once we have each clamp tightened we can then go ahead and put back on the covers. more
